Scottish Asphalte Company, 87, Union Street.—

    The use of asphalte for flooring, &c., has long been widely appreciated, and among the oldest firms engaged in its manufacture is that known as the Scottish Asphalte Company. This firm has been established since 1858. The firm’s works are at Glenpark, where they employ a considerable number of hands.

    The success that has been achieved is abundantly evidenced by the large trade now done. The trade extends to all districts in Scotland, the firm having a large connection among the most influential classes and local authorities, &c. Special contracts are undertaken, and are carried out with commendable dispatch. The firm have often large shipping orders, especially for Australia.

    The business is very ably conducted under the energetic direction of Mr. R. Robertson, to whose ability as manager much of the success is due.
