Mains & McGlashan, Yarn Agents and Merchants, 21, Cochrane Street.—

    The firm of Mains & McGlashan was established some seven years since at the present address. The partnership consists of James Mains and Donald McGlashan. They do a very superior trade, being Agents for Messrs. E. Wadsworth & Sons, worsted spinners, Cleckheaton ; Foster & Clay, fingering spinners, Sowerby Bridge ; Barkers & Buttersworth, silk spinners, Brighouse ; Joseph Baines & Sons, Alloa yarn spinners, Horbury ; J. E. Pickard & Sons, lambs’ wool spinners, Leicester ; Robinson Brothers, Queensland shawl manufacturers, of Marsden ; and besides several continental spinners.

    They occupy two flats in Cochrane Street, which are used as warehouse, storerooms, and office, and employ a good working staff, in addition to travellers. Their business connection is chiefly with manufacturers and warehousemen throughout Scotland. Messrs. Mains and McGlashan have a first-class commercial reputation, and they conduct their business upon the strictest lines of probity and honour.
