REV. GEORGE
REITH
SON of George Reith, secretary and general manager of the
Clyde Trust, the minister of the United Free College Church was born at Aberdeen
in 1842. He received his education at Aberdeen Grammar School and University, at
the New College, Edinburgh, and at the University of Erlangen. He is M.A. of
Aberdeen, and has received the degree of D.D. from his alma mater. His chief
literary work is the volume in Messrs. T. & T. Clark's Bible Handbook Series,
"On St. John's Gospel." His favourite holiday pursuit is mountaineering, and he
has travelled in Norway, Italy, and Greece, as well as in Canada and the United
States. He is married, and has a family of five sons and two daughters.
