THE Librarian of Baillie's Institution was born at Glasgow in 1871,and educated at public schools. He became an assistant in the Mitchell Library in 1890, and remained there till his appointment to his present post in 1904. He is a contributor to various periodical publications, but is chiefly interested in bibliography, and is a member of the Edinburgh Bibliographical Society. He has written and privately printed several brochures on the printed works of Robert Burns, and compiled the bibliographical portion (257 pages) of the Memorial Catalogue of the Burns Exhibition, Glasgow, in 1896. His wife is the eldest daughter of Mr. J. F. King, Cambuslang, and he has three daughters.
