    This house was established as far back as 1814, and has ever maintained a high reputation. The mills are situate at Port Eglinton, and are equipped with all the latest machinery and appliances for the systematic conduct of the business, while employment is given to several hundred skilled operators. The goods manufactured by this reliable firm include every description of cotton fabrics, specialities being made of cotton damask tablecloth and napkins, which are unsurpassed for quality, finish, and general excellence. The trade is exclusively a local one, the products of the mills being chiefly disposed of through the Manchester market. The conduct of the city business is ably presided over by Mr. W. J. Walker.
